Fifth Grade

Fifth Grade Assignment

Title: Life
Prompts that encourage students to think about what is really important in life.
Choose 1
1. If you had a million dollars to do holiday shopping, but you couldn't spend anything on yourself, what would you buy for your friends and family? Explain why.
2. There is an old saying; "It is better to give than receive." What do you think this saying means? Is it true? Write an essay sharing your feelings about this quote.
3. Imagine that you can receive anything you want for Christmas... but it cannot be a tangible item you can hold or see. What would you want for Christmas? Explain why.

You are never too young to begin writing your Memoirs. Challenge students to write about one of their favorite Christmas memories with vivid descriptions and plenty of details. Encourage them to express the emotions they experienced at the time.
